RokukeShiba posted a warning on iB about Paypal's latest attempt to limit their own responsibility to their customers. Unless you opt-out of their policy, you agree to not being allowed to sue them. And of course they do not tell you how to opt-out, but somebody managed to harass the information out of them.
Go to this page to learn how to opt-out. -- https://magneticcrow.wordpress.com/.....policy-update/
Essentially, you have to mail them a letter. It has to have your name, address, phone number and the email you use to sign into Paypal. It has to say that you do not agree to their policy that you will not take part in a class-action lawsuit against them, Agreement to Arbitrate (Section 14.3). It must be signed. It must be post marked before December 1st, 2012. The address is:
PayPal, Inc.
Attn: Litigation Department
2211 North First Street
San Jose, CA
USA, 95131-2021
Here's a model letter. Just replace the "From:" address information with your own information as indicated, delete the instructions, print it and send it. (Sorry, you'll have to make your own envelope.)
Click on the link above for more information.
UPDATE -- It turns out that the M$ Word file had my real name embedded in it. Not that I really care if anybody knows my real name, but I don't like M$ forcing me to divulge it. I've replaced it with a .txt file.

Paypal are infamous for playing fast-and-loose with their customers. I refuse to give them a credit card and keep only as much money in my account as I need to. As to whether they're infringing the laws of this-or-that land and what will stand up in court, I guess it'll depend on who can afford to take them to court.
Hmm. I think I'll be withdrawing remaining funds and cutting PayPal off from my bank and credit accounts. Maybe I can get a merchant account with VISA or something. Whatever I end up doing, after all the unethical garbage PayPal has pulled over the years I'm going to have a tough time not adding a bit of personal sentiment to this form letter.
