Awesome pear cake (of awesome)
I made a supa-tastey pear cake. *_*
The ingredients: (and since not everyone uses the metric system, I give it to you in grams and ounces. Ain't I friendly? ^_^)
300 g Wheat flour (10.5 oz)
100 g Ground almonds (3.5 oz)
100 g Sugar (3.5 oz)
100 g Soft butter (3.5 oz)
150 ml Pear juice (5.0 fl. oz.) (or a ground pear or two)
3 Eggs
2 Pears
2 Tablespoons of honey
1 Package of baking powder
1 Tablespoon of cinnamon
A pinch of salt
The recipe:
Mix the flours, baking powder, sugar, salt and cinnamon in a big bowl. Then stir small pieces of butter and the eggs in, one at a time. When thoroughly mixed, add pear juice until the dough has a creamy consitence and tries to escape from the bowl when tilting it. Add honey and cinnamon until you reach the desired taste. Wipe your mouth regularily. When smooth and sweet enough, put half of the dough into a greased cake pan.
Heat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F).
Peel the pears, take the core out, and cut them into thick slices. Distribute the slices randomly over the dough in the pan, then cover them with the remaining dough. Put the cake into the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.
