Whether it had been a second, an hour, or an eternity in that jet black darkness, Zeryx couldn't tell. He felt like he was floating along somewhere, but he couldn't see anything. He felt aware, except that there was nothing to be aware of. He felt more lost than anything else, like searching for an exit in a maze that has no solution. Was this what he had wanted? In a twist of irony, he thought to himself that he would've never jumped had he known that dying meant this sort of torture.
Then, suddenly, he was no longer alone. Where once was nothing discernable, a muscular bull had appeared in his sight. A malicious grin was on the bulls face, a small length of rope in his hands. He was toying with it, walking towards Zeryx, or at least it seemed like it. "Hmmm. What have we here?"
Then, the bull vanished, but reappeared behind the ram. Spinning around, the ram was just in time to see the bovine tossing the rope around his horns in a crude lasso. "Who are you?!" he cried out, trying to free himself from the rope. And once again, the bull and the rope vanished, and the presence of the bull shifted behind him a second time.
"Some would call me a devil." The bull chuckled lowly. "Others call me Isaac. Welcome to hell." Isaac broke out laughing.
"Then I really am dead?" Zeryx seemed crestfallen, despite himself.
"That would be telling." Isaac just smirked back at the black sheep. "Be careful what you wish for, though; you know what they say." The bull turned, and with a flick of his tail he vanished, leaving Zeryx in darkness once more.
Zeryx was sure something was up. He wasn't dead, but he didn't know where here was. Or he was dead... and this was the beginning of his eternal torment. But where had the bull come from? He'd never met such a bull before, so surely he wasn't seeing things. But then, there was nothing to see besides the bull, and he was gone now. The sheep felt very powerless, and as his conscious mind faded back into nothingness, he wondered if he would see the bull again....
