Speed painting that I got a bit carried away with. I wasn't originally aiming for dried blood with the background, but that's what it makes me think of :)

Since it was my birthday I'd treated myself to some new W&N Artist's Series half pans and then cracked them open to see what they could do for the background here. So say hello to Naples Yellow, Brown Madder and the wonderfully named Caput Mortuum Violet which I think is my new favourite watercolour hue alongside Payne's Grey...

Will rehome this for cash if anyone wants to make me an offer ;)
