My grandparents used to live on the top floor of their apartment building (4th floor)...and I did hold a weird fascination when it was time to help empty the kitchen trash can and throwing the trash bags down the garbage chute from that top floor hearing the bags slide, rattle, and clank all the way down to the rubbish bin below.
Of course, the fun to be had when the bags got jammed in the chute...
