oooooooooooh~ the geared engines are good, there well engineered, there my dad's favorite, he argues why could Briton have had such engines, rather than have engines with long piston strokes and struggling up our steep gradients

Timber haulers loved these. They were cheap and easier on the track than a Shay of the same weight class for some reason.
