This is a shot of the mantle I talked about earlier. It was constructed of 14ga steel wire, so it has a larger-than-1/4 inside diameter (it's not in front of me or I'd measure properly). The edging is solid copper wire.
The garment underneath the mantle is made to be worn under the palte armor, hence the mail under the arms.
