I just recently got my new camera, and I wanted to try it out. After class today, I drove out to some back roads, found this spot, and in a break between cars, I got this photo, and I'm pretty happy with it. Right now (as of the initial upload), I have this resized to FA's specifications (DX), because my computer has a HORRIBLE upload speed, and the connection keeps timing out if the file is too large.
Anyways, I will try to re-upload this with a higher resolution. Hope it works!

This photograph reminds me of the Robert Frost poem "The Road less traveled," and the scenery you have captured here is quite nice. I like the contrast between the road and the forest, and it almost seems like the road interrupts the forest acting like a gash across what would have otherwise been a totally natural setting. It was a very good idea to take the photograph from the angle and height you had chosen because it gives the viewer the perspective of small animals that we oftentimes see scurrying around the forest floor and roadways. Also, chosing a road with a stripe down the middle was a good idea because the stripe provides a reference point for the viewer to evaluate distance.
I like your work, and it looks like your camera was a very good investment.

Thank you! That actually is pretty much what the road is like: a gash in an otherwise natural setting. There are a couple houses up and down the road, but I believe it's 4 over the course of a mile. Other than that, the area this was taken in is basically a nature preserve. I haven't been able to find many roads like this one around town, except for one, but a.) it's 24 miles away, and b.) there are a ton of houses too close by, and the woods were thinned out.
