Awh she is adorable~ How are they as pets? I've been debating over a mantis, hissing roach, and tarantula, lol

they arent bad as pets, kind of like a fish though they are pets to observe. you can handle them but you have to be careful because they are very very fast as nymphs. I almost lost my sheild mantis when i had to clean his enclosure (simple paper towel change didnt think i needed to rehouse him for that short time). You also have to be sure you get a species thats good for beginners i learned that the hard way. also if you anoy them too much they will bite. this one bit me when i tried to nudge her back into her home the brat lol didnt draw blood though and didnt hurt much it was like a warning pinch "stop pokeing me!!!"

Interesting~ Yeah, I kinda just want an lookie pet for a while. I love fish n' all, but we already have so many. I actually didn't know mantis's were that fast, that's pretty cool, actually. Thanks for the info

captive ones can live up to a year, thats why some get farther into the hobby and start breeding them so they always have others.

awhh. That's kinda what I want, though. I'd love my pet none the less, but I want something that I don't need to take care of forever, like a bird x.o

i wouldnt say horrifying i feel bad for their prey but yea its facinateing at the same time. when she eats while on my hand i look closely at her mandables working

Carlos always went right for the neck, and just the look on her preys face as carlos devoured their torso leaving only wings and a spinal cord.... I'm like omg whhyyyyy??? but I couldn't look away ...and I wated to see it happen again >.>

spinal cord?? what did you feed her mice?

occasionally i would catch a moth or two and everytime there would be like a spine left lol

Insects are invertibrates X3 maybe it was a strip of the abdomen or something
