Actually Its illegality is irrelevant. Though there are a lot of states and countries that waist their time placing such laws. A matrimony of any sort can be legit while still excluding every form of government.
In other words, there are places that the physical act of intercourse would be illegal. But wedding another specie in any form of matrimony cannot be judged under court of law.

Correct. I married my first dog in a ceremony called a "paw-fasting" (based on the Celtic practice of hand-fasting). It wasn't a *legal* marriage in any country I know of (I couldn't file jointly on my tax return :), but it wasn't prohibited, either. As far as the law was concerned, the marriage simply didn't exist. Not to them, anyway. ;)
well its the concept behind marriage that counts, the promise thats important... It never was the governments decision whether its legit or not. All they can say in it is if they will "decide to see you as such."
Just have to remember; "Marriage existed before government."
But yeah... I fail to see why so many people act so damn stupid about this sort of thing. Its like they take it as a personal attack on their "superiority as human." *Rolls eye's* I've become a sociologist and make-shift lawyer out of necessity because of the senseless comments that get thrown at me every once in a while.
Man... I really need to look farther into the Celtic history. I'm such a fan of the "Runes" and ornate design... and the concepts in spirituality...
I really should consider a Celtic wedding with my horse... I already know I want the song "clocks" by Cold play going in the background during the ceremony. :P
