haha yeah my friends tended to scare off the dramatic people. We found out if they thought we were weird, then we didn't have to deal with them. :P

i feel awkward as hell cause the idea of crushes and liking people is all new to me. its like :O "what do i do" I feel too old to ask for advice or help XD I tried to ask one of my guy friends. pfft all he could say is "dont' give it up on the first date" i was like "thats obvious." The only bonus is I know who i am as an adult vs a teen.

Sounds cliche but: Ignore the haters and be yourself! It takes a lot of courage to be the person you really are in today's world if it doesn't quite fit in with what society says you should be, but that doesn't mean it's the wrong way to be :) There's way more natural beauty and confidence to be found in marching to the beat of your own drum rather than trying to conform, I guarantee!

You've made an excellent point and have a good prerogative which I too try to follow as best I can. The oppression sucks, but having a sense of individuality is worth the struggle. :)

I was in the same boat. :( Except I was very aggressive about it. I drove people away so they didn't have a chance to hurt me.

I think that must be a fairly common defense mechanism, I have some friends that did (and some that still do) that. It's hard to deal with and I'm sure harder for them to break out of but realizing it is half the battle I think!

T-shirts all the way. Only time I ever wore skirts is when I was in a wheelchair, where I had a couple of surgical pins sticking out on the side of my knee (it was corrective surgery). Kinda hard to put on pants when there's a few inches of metal sticking out of your legs. But they were never short skirts, I absolutely HATE showing off my knees. >.-.<

I hate my knees too ;~; I only wear shorts or skirts when my hate for the TX heat surpasses my hate for my knees, lol!
