Description: Stank is defined by his eccentric quirks and has come to embrace his role as the misfit. He makes no effort to stifle his impetuous sense of humor, often to his own detriment, but carries with that a refreshing air of candor. An air that is masked by his omnipresent odor. His only real burden comes from his own expectations, which are constantly weighed against a stringent and personal moral code. He is intuitive and a surprisingly deep thinker, but his propensity for over-analysis means his intellect often does more harm than good. His absurdity, spontaneity, and honesty developed as a subconscious response to this stifling introspection.
Philosophy: There is a reason for everything. Accordingly, one can find relation to even most inexplicable or inexcusable of human actions, though the reasoning behind them may be in errant. Because all life has a reason, all life should be respected and protected at any cost. Lawful Good.
Traits: Unlucky, Clumsy, Awkward, Absent-Minded, Reckless, Near-Sighted, Clever, Quick-Witted, Funny, Insightful, Resourceful, Chivalrous, Honest, Loyal, Stinky
Spirit-bonded to a Stink Bomb: Visible green fumes constantly waft from his tail. When he dies his soul leaves his body as a stink-cloud, which travels to the nearest noxious place in order to fuel the reconstruction his body. During this time he is unconscious and awakens in his new body with no memory of how he got there. He still ages and sprays normally.
Quirks: Compulsive Fiddler, Stutters when Nervous, Often Uses Puns and Silly Word-Combinations, Obsessive-Compulsive Tendencies
Interests: Alchemy, Clockwork Machinations, Pop Culture, Cooking, Politics, Debate, Philosophy, Nature & Biology, History, Myths & Parables, Jokes, Parlor Tricks, Art
Skills: College Education, Alchemy (advanced), Clockwork Machinist (amateur), Deductive Reasoning, Adventuring Experience (advanced), Performance Experience (amateur), Etiquette (advanced)
Occupation: Alchemist. Member of the Practical Legends Adventuring Group
Goals: To find the purpose of his life.
Quotes: “If you tell enough lies you'll eventually end up telling the truth.”
“When I say it's impossible I don't mean it's actually impossible. I just want to make it look cooler when I actually do it.”
“This stinks.”
Combat Maneuvers (these are suggests, not obligations):
Fills the area with a stink-cloud to conceal his movements. Often used to facilitate his escape.
Utilizes his fuming tail like a chloroform rag in close-quarters combat.
Constructs clockwork traps of various designs and keeps concealed devices up his sleeves. A grabbing pincer arm on a spring is attached to one arm and a squirt gun with quick-refill test tube ammunition is on the other.
Developed a quick-hardening slime for use as a binding agent. A more brittle variant can be used to craft crude melee weapons like clubs and swords by allowing the slime to drip down his hand and dry to form the desired implement, with blades created by swinging the slime as it hardens. Weapons can be created in this manner in little more than a second.
When facing a predator he will often attempt to throw a rapidly-inflating slime down the beast's throat and abruptly fill its stomach.
In grueling or physically demanding situations he will ingest a mutagen slime that grants him slime characteristics. His body becomes malleable, blood thick and oxygen rich, and he develops quick-healing abilities, all of which dramatically increases his endurance and constitution.
'Toolbox' character with many versatile tricks and concoctions.

Funny, I don't think of this as steampunk, but now that it's been brought up I'm seeing the relations. Stank's outfit has always been a bit eccentric though, so the style for the rest of the characters may not be so overt. That said, the setting for the world I'm working on is a fantasy realm that could conceivably enter steampunk within a few generations, so I guess the relation isn't that far off at all...
I think it's mostly when you start dabbling in clockwork related things and objects, *wind up technology* I guess I see some queen Victorian era technology placed in there.
So I assume it's still the era with swords and sorcery, with minimal knowledge of gun powder/explosives?
x'3 though I know if our characters were to ever meet, it would be a clash between Chaotic and Lawful.

That's correct, but to me steampunk is full on giant spider robots and towering, bustling metropolises. My world's a bit more medieval than that. There is clockwork technology and gunpowder, but it remains more of a novelty and magic is still relied upon to power or facilitate most 'technological' advances.
glasses? I don't think those glasses work on you. I don't know, I just... they seem to frame your face with a different personality, especially with that hair. Like maybe if they were smaller, or if they were rectangle frames, but otherwise I'm really not sold on the glasses. They make me think of you as the geeky best friend of the main character, the one who brings out a pocket computer any time the writer needs to dump some information into the plot or something.
Who said that wasn't the character type I wanted you to think about? Besides, there's a little bit more to them, in that they're rounded protective goggles of sorts. I admit they're a rather large change and do affect the character silhouette quite a bit, but I wanted a radical 'physical' change to match all the character changes Stank's gone through recently.
Never knew my boredom would take me to an interesting character like this. The eccentricities of your character and his appearance are far out of left field, but the explanation ties it all together nicely. All in all, fine character and fine description. Probably one of the more well worded ones I've seen in some time.
And as a bit of an off topic question, do you RP at all? I tend to do so since I build up characters this way and it would be interesting to put my own fursona into the worlds of others. It's cool to see others imaginations come to life.

I'm honored and I appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment. Clearly I'm glad you found the time to stumble upon this as well. Always happy to hear that my bizarre imagination can manage to connect with others. ^^
I'll be posting more character bios like this over the coming weeks, so if you enjoyed this one perhaps that's something to look forward to.
As for RPing, no I unfortunately don't have the time for that anymore, however I do have big plans to incorporate this and some of my other characters into a large upcoming project, so hopefully that will provide the interesting insight into another world you're looking for.

I'm glad that you're pleased by that. It's nice to complement good art and a good direction for a well thought out character. And I'm interested in seeing the other characters that follow in this universe that you are building. I'm trying to do the same thing with all of the characters I've made. But, I'm also experiencing a lack of time to do that. Sucks to be bogged down with things to do.
And that's a shame. I still RP when I can since it's helped to bring me so many fun, serious, and interesting characters all with quirks, twists and interesting personalities and so much more. People have helped me bring the race of characters of my little universe to life as I have done the same with them.

I mostly just RP for the fun of it. I don't necessarily know where each adventure will take my characters or where others will go in my little places, but it's always fun to see where they are.
But, I'm not sure what you mean by furry RPing and gaming RPing. Mind clarifying that for me?

Furry RPing often gets sidetracked by... distracting desires. That's often the type of thing people are talking about when they mentioning RPing here, so please forgive my assumption. If you were just talking about casual, family-friendly RPing, well that's a different thing entirely. I don't do it often, and would like to do it more, and I find that to be a very effective developmental tool indeed. And fun too. As long as there are no distractions.
