You know how much wonder and how many beautiful sights there are in space? A ton...and you know how many of those wonders and sights...are blacked out by a bunch of debris? A lot!
Seriously, this planet has a ton of crap floating around it, it'd have to develop some junker ships before getting some actual colonies up and running.
I'm actually surprised that Gear did as well as it did on the first flight...
THAT GEAR WAS SELECTED DUE TO BASIC TRAINING IT ABSORBED. NOT MUCH BY NORMAL STANDARDS, BUT ENOUGH TO OPERATE THE EQUIPMENT.
At least he didn't slam into the thing and run the bill up...
