Septembers ACEO trade for the group ACEOfursXchange on DA
I had such a crazy month that I'm a week late for the trade deadline, and I'm never late so I wanted to make it up somehow. Also this was awesomely relaxing to work on ^_^
I present: Arsillyd! And I am really happy with the result! Also, the purple/blues gave me a reason to get some new Copics mmmm. <3
This is a triple wide ACEO card, so from edge to edge it measures a little over 7 inches (it falls a tiny bit short of the full 7.5 in order to make the wings fit when bent).
Regular ACEO cards measure 2.5x3.5 inches. This is 7.25x3.5 inches. It folds into the 2.5x3.5 size.
Cardstock, Copic/Prisma markers, ink pen and white gel pen.

Hmm, good question!
My regular ACEO cards are $20 each (so basically just the center part). For the wings I have to do a front and a back for each side, so 4 extra sides...I think that for a triple wide cut-out like this I'd do $40 (so like 2 aceo's) - as long as the character isn't any more complicated than this one here =]

My goodness, this is such a clever little idea! I've never done anything with ACEO cards, but something like this has certainly inspired me to experiment.
Beautiful marker work as well. The flow of the pose is simple but beautiful, as well as the colours you chose for the dragon and the background, and you made excellent work of the spare bit of gel pen you did use for outlining and highlighting. It works nicely with the thicker lineart you used, and is very striking. I also like how even when the wings are partially folded and you can see the dragon peeping through the feathers, it still looks really nice~

Wonderful! I'm so happy that you are inspired by this - ACEO's can be done in so many ways!
Although the colors of the dragon were already set by it's original design (from the one I traded with), choosing a background color always seems to be the hardest part! Thank you for your wonderful comment ^_^
