Just something I was working on for the past few hours, using the generator on dA:

I was working at making up all six of my dragon character. The first up is my dragonsona, Jazura, a ruby dragon. Her hobbies include flying at high speeds and making thunderstorms.

Ah well. Turns out Seraphim as a name has already been taken several times, and by another red scaled creature no less. Still, while I'm here, I might as well say that I like her design. I realise it was made by a generator, but the red and white and silver looks rather nice together. You mentioned her zipping about and making thunderstorms. I can't say I would have guessed that from looks alone, but ya don't have to always play to stereotypes I guess.
Seraphim is an eight winged angel, usually thought of as the "highest-ranked" species angels I believe. It wouldn't surprise me if people have already taken the name.
I have certain themes I use with all my characters (the colors red and white, the number 8, angel-motifs.)
Also, I always love lightning powers. Damn, that would be awesome.
I do want to get the real Seraphim drawn sometime. This is just really for her coloration. I do plan to have her have larger hips, thinner upper body, a heart shape at the end of her tail, and possibly a larger neck.

I searched the term 'Seraphim', knowing roughly what it actually meant, wondering if anyone had actually taken it for a character of theirs. That wasn't already an angel. "Seraphim the Ruby Dragon" was the first non-angel piece I spotted, about four or five in. It was a bit of a shame at first to see somebody had taken it, but at the same time I was quite pleased to see somebody had used it on a red character like I had planned. It was nice to know I was on the right lines, or something like that. And because of that, I felt compelled to take a closer look and leave a comment.
Whilst I didn't get an original name out of this, and I don't know if you were just elaborating on Seraphim or actually lending me a hand, I would like to thank you for mentioning about character themes. I've only been here a few days, and pretty much every one I've seen has their own persona. I've been thinking up my own, thus the name search. I should also consider a theme maybe, too.
Good luck to you with getting Seraphim drawn sometime. I'm afraid I can't help in regards to money. But, I have come across quite an impressive dragon artist even in my short time here. I'd happily recommend you to her, if you'd like.
Anyway, it's rather late here, so I'm going to be signing out for the night. Still, you mentioned multiple characters, following a partially red colour scheme. And from the way you talk about it, it seems you've got quite a bit of knowledge in regards to making characters. I think I'll take a look through your stuff tomorrow, if you don't mind? I wouldn't want to seem like I'm trying to copy you, but at the same time, some inspiration would be nice.

Don’t worry about the comment. I didn’t see anything bad about it. If it helps you, I’ll try and explain how I make up characters.
I have six archetypes. The archetypes have various factors, such as colors, themes, naming convention, etc. All the characters in a given archetype follow certain “rules,” and share common themes. I have various pictures of my six main characters on this profile.
Seraphim is my dragonsona, so she has a lot of the “Uzira Archetype” factors. Seraphim has red and white as her main colors, lightning/electricity as her element, super speed, an angel motif, and a heart motif. All those are factors in the Uzira Archetype.
I don’t know if you like My Little Pony, but Mai Valentine is my pony, and so she’s in the Uzira Archetype. She follows the Uzira Archetype factors. Here’s a picture of her:

As you can see, despite being so drastically different from Seraphim, you can kinda see she’s also based on me (red and white main colors, super speed, heart motif.)
I can imagine some people might say working within the archetypes is restricting, but it’s something that I love to do and find it makes designing characters for stories much easier. I love the idea of one soul, spread over an infinite number of universes. All fragments of the same soul, spread over eternity. But that’s just me.
Maybe this will help you get to thinking about a characters. Try and fill in these blanks-
Archetype’s Name (My name is Uzira, so that’s the name of the Archeytpe):
Main/Favorite Color (For me it’s red):
Secondary Color (For me it’s white):
Elemental Power (For me it’s electricity):
Symbol (for me it’s hearts):
And, once you have those basic, broad things, try to use them as the building blocks to more unique, universe specific characters. And, if you need help, maybe PM me.

Ah, good. Good. I was quite worried I would come across the wrong way, so it's nice to know you didn't see anything bad about it.
Anyway, thank you for such a reply, and all the information therein, MsUzira. This 'archetype style' is certainly an interesting way of going about things that I haven't seen as of yet on the site. Typically you see "this is myself, but as a wolf/dragon/fox etc.". That you have six characters all in the style is testament to how well it works too, I'm sure. Although, thinking about it, I have to wonder if this is a scheme better suited for having an ensemble of characters. I can see how beneficial it would be to keep different creations from being too similar to one another, but for the time being I'm just trying to make a single representation.
Of course, this isn't me outright discounting your style. I'm certainly going to keep this in mind if I ever get to creating a second character. And I've certainly got to thinking about what I would put for those categories you brought up. So thank you for the help, both that which I can use now, and keep in mind for later.
Oh, and by the way, I'm neither here nor there on My Little Pony really, but the image you linked me to certainly made me chuckle.

I adopted the archetype style to expand my writing. I have six archetypes, in which, about 170 characters are spread. Each archetype has about 27 characters or so. It’s basically if I were born in the Halo universe, what would I be like? If I were born a dragon, what would I be like? So, that spread across about 27 universes. It helps because, if I write an MLP fic, a dragon fic, a regular furry fic, I have six characters to bolster the ranks.
But yes, it works best with an ensemble. And it works well to play off the different personalities. And most of all, it works if you write a lot. It’s certainly not for everyone.

I don't really do any writing of my own, let alone enough to require one-hundred and seventy characters. So yes, I can see how the style might work better for some people than others. Still, you've given me a few ideas and thoughts, and if I ever start being able to churn out more characters, I'm certainly going to think about your archetype style. So thank you for that, MsUzira.
Hey. I was just looking at my previous comment again and I can't help but feel a little bad. I realise I come across perhaps a bit self-centred, wanting to look at your work for my own gains and such, and I apologize for that. I was just rather excited to see somebody who looked like they had quite a grasp on making characters, is all.
All of my compliments still apply of course. I'm quite fond of the colour scheme, especially the eyes the more I look at them. And again, good luck to you in regards to getting something of Seraphim drawn. I think I would like to see that if and when it comes to fruition.
