So here’s my art for the Pokemon Trainer Art Challenge I posted about over on tumblr.

My clothes are inspired by what I like to wear. I put on a hat because every aspiring Pokemon trainer wears one. The symbol on the hat and shoes is kind of a parody to the Nike logo. The hat has two of them fused together.

Pokemon Team

Starter Pokemon: Shiny Eevee
Type: Normal (Dark type after evolution into Umbreon)
Name: Locke
Gender: Male
Traits: Brave, Resilient, Very Protective
Other Notes: Eevee has always been by Cross’ side when they were both young. Both Eevee and Cross wants Eevee to evolve into an Umbreon, just like his hero; an Umbreon that’s an action movie star. Eevee always sees himself as the hero type and wants to help others in need.

Second Pokemon: Clefairy
Type: Normal
Name: Aerith
Gender: Female
Traits: Diligent, Calm, Protective
Other Notes: Clefairy doesn’t like Metronome so she tries to learn other special attacks she thinks will be more efficient.

Third Pokemon: Quilava
Type: Fire
Name: Squall
Gender: Male
Traits: Quiet, Bashful, Observant
Other Notes: Quilava tends to sit back and only battles when called upon. He could easily get embarrassed from his own mistakes and tries to hide it.

Fourth Pokemon: Wooper
Type: Water/Ground
Name: Zidane
Gender: Male
Traits: Excited, Playful, Carefree
Other Notes: Wooper is very friendly towards almost everyone and his carefree attitude makes him seem fearless of dangerous situations.

Fifth Pokemon: Snivy
Type: Grass
Name: Yuffie
Gender: Female
Traits: Observant, Independent, Proud
Other Notes: Snivy hatched from an egg given to Cross. She is self reliant from the get go and proud of her skills as a combatant.

Sixth Pokemon: Gardevoir
Type: Psychic
Name: Yuna
Gender: Female
Traits: Elegant, Sweet, Sometimes Vain
Other Notes: She was first caught as a Kirlia. She wanted to have a trainer in hopes to evolve faster. She admires beauty and is sometimes distracted with her own reflection.

This was fun to do, and it was a bit of work trying to come up with personalities for these Pokemon. Bonus points for knowing where I got the names for them from. Although its very easy to guess. :P
