Wow. Looks like someone needs a gym membership.
Funny thing, I just found a Carolina mantis myself yesterday, and decided to keep it because it should get cold soon. He's an adult and was REALLY skinny when I found him but I'm having trouble getting him to eat. The little dude is obviously unused to being kept in a terranium and spends most of his time on ceiling, clawing at the walls and trying to get out. I tried tweezer feeding but he is always seems to be too distracted by trying to escape the enclosure.
Any suggestions?

I've looked at sites on the web such as the one you showed and none of them really help at all, sorry.
I'm sure the mantis is turned off by the tweezers, the see-through plastic walls.... everything.
The enclosure is not too big... it just about fits the suggested dimensions on the website. I've been giving him shield bugs, (which he loves to watch if it crawls close but he never strikes at), Craneflies (just cause they're everywhere at night and easy to catch, but he ignores them), and moths (ditto). I set a few cricket traps in my yard tonight but even if I catch any I don't think he'll ever go for them because he refuses to budge from the ceiling so he'd never find them.
I guess I'll just give him a few more days and if he still refuses to eat I'll let him go.

yea that might be best, it is also possible he is nearing the end of his life cycle. if your still interested in possibly getting a mantis as a pet I've got my two from this site http://www.mantispets.com/
they do good packageing and you could get beginner packages with a mantis included. they are also good answering questions if you e-mail them. just be sure you select express shipping to not risk the mantis dieing in the package if it takes too long.
