A while back a friend of mine sent a care package that included a few pieces of HO old time rolling stock and an old AHM HO gauge 0-6-0T. I've been unable to test the performance of the locomotive properly (not event o see if it runs at all!) O_o
However the engine has a very unique blend of American and European design.
Anyway, the locomotive shown above is completely different than the look of the model. This actually depicts what I hope to do to said model locomotive! AMERICANIZE EET!!!
So this here be Empire River & Western switcher #42. The number is random so there's no significance what-so-ever. The locomotive is also donned in the ER&W's colors. And this is roughly drawn to O scale. And she be a biggun'! Hope ya'll like!

lots of early ahm were "a unique blend of american and european prototypes". well austrailian prototypes, what i've seen of them, are a unique blend of american, european AND asian. with clyde i think it is, the emd liscensee, and comang the alco/g.e. i remember i had a big hook from ahm in the early 60s that would fall into that catagory, an obvious german prototype. i made an idler for it from the model die casting short flat car. most of my rolling stock at that time was a mix of model die casting and athern. i remember having had a model die casting metal kit for an 0-6-0 tank that, unfortunately, one of the driver sets was out of quarter and i didn't have a way of quartering it, so it never did run well, but it looked good anyway.
I've always liked MDC Roundhouse. I wish that Athern, the current owner of Roundhouse, would start reproducing the locomotive kits. That and the shay locomotives which REALLY brought on MDC's renown. I've been wanting to get one of those 0-6-0T loco kits, even if it's just parts. As well as the HOn3 outside frame 2-8-0 kits. I've always wanted to have one, but fate has intervened every time I try to acquire one. ^^;
