Well, FINALLY, I completed my revised track plan for my On30 model railroad; the Big Thunder & Western. It's shown here as a 6x10' layout, though I may need to alter it further into an 8x10 design. Reason being is that the operator (or operators) sit in the center while the layout surrounds them. However the center area is roughly 5.5'x2.5', so it's a little cramped. The additional 2' in width would help that a lot.

There's a lot going on in this little railroad. In fact there are about THREE roads that operate here! The first and owner of the track is the Big Thunder & Western. The second is a railroad that interchanges with the BT&W which is the Big Thunder & Prescott RR. (Yes, this is based in Arizona copper mining territory.) The third is a smaller company technically owned by the BT&W, the Big Thunder Copper Co. They have a relatively small roster of locomotives, mostly consisting of Porters and three Bell Geared locomotives.

It's going to be a long while before I can even start building this thing. Though one day I hope to expand this railroad into a basement sized desert empire!
