I find this character fascinating but she won't tell me her name. Not surprising considering all the shit she's gone through, but still it makes it awkward not having a proper name for her. Therefore. until she provides me with her name I'll call her Little Rommel because of the sand goggles she wears all the time.
This piece was very fascinating to do since I really wanted to get the feel of an aftermath of a real battle, not some Hollywood model airplane dope spectacular! Fortunately, or unfortunately, there is no shortage on good examples of pre-mediated mayhem nowsdays to look at. I have received compliments from servicemen who have or are stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan saying that I got the general feeling of post-battle messiness right.
If I could do one thing over again the piece I'd handle the outline of the APC differently. It is a bit too sharp and stark.

Oh she's short. In my universe Fennecs are only about three feet tall, so yep that's Cz61 Skorpion she's got as her main firearm. The green thing she is holding is a Soviet RKG-3 anti-tank grenade. The fennec's use them to take APCs by tossing them like olympic hammer throwers.
Vzor means Model
The original Cz75 is not the Czech military pistol iirc
The postwar Pistols they used were:
P 38
Vz 52 ( there is no Cz52 )
Vz 82 ( the military version of the CZ83 ) Caliber of the milspec one is 9mm Makarow and the barrel is contrary to the civilian model polygonal and chrome lined ( I am pretty sure as I do own one with the 1988 acceptance markings )
Vz50/70 have been used by the Police only

I find it interesting that if the vehicle catches fire but doesn't get completely engulfed you get this dark brown/ red color around the steel parts of the vehicle. It almost looks like rust or something, but I'm pretty it not a result of long term exposure/ abandonment since some of my references were still smoking in the photo.
I was gonna say about her height until I read she was about three feet tall. I've seen Soviet troops next to those things and the deck is about chest to neck high, but her at three feet makes sense now.
The Skorpian might be a decent weapon for someone that tall, but as a man stopper (seeing as it was originally an armor crew self defense weapon it needed a good punch) it was marginal to laughable. In modern warfare where most troops wear body armor I doubt you'd even feel it if you were hit in the chest. Most similar modern weapons are 9mmP or the single example of 5.7mmFN, with a rare sub-carbine in a rifle caliber version in 5.45mm Russian or 5.56mm NATO.
Long story short to the last paragraph, if the setting has much larger races (as I assume it does) that probably won't be much better than a suppressive fire weapon.

Most of her troops use an Italian bullpup rifle that fires .221 Fireball burst mode. Its no .308 but its better than a 22LR. The vz61 holds a special connection for her since she took from one of the men who raped her after she'd hunted him and her way with him. Note. She's handy with that long knife too and it took awhile. Fortunately for her most of the thugs and yahoos whe's dealing with still don't wear much armor.
hemmms. "The pic is great. I gess my only crit would be is the apc its way to tall. Or atleast from what ive been in. There always cramped and barly any room to even move around in them. As well as did you use the soviot modle apc for it? Is use to gators from my military experiance.
Hee, I was listening to 'Teenage Wasteland' by The Who, and thought of this picture and the other one with Li'l Rommel. Actually now that I think about that and the ways in which the name of the song conincides with the subject matter... Gives me shivers, and it's an upbeat major keyed song too. But anyway, Love Li'l Rommel, want to see more of her!
Yes but the weapon holds a special link to her. It was a personal weapon of one of the officers that raped her when they attacked her village. She later hunted him and had her justice with him. I'd say she took it from his body but he wasn't quite dead yet; although he'd wished he'd died sometime ago. Note, she is very handy with that large knife she has in the picture.
