My most recent commission done for Icomeanon of a new gray fox female character.
I must say I'm very proud of how the background ended. I know it looks a little like a photo, but you can zoom in it and you'll see the brush strokes. I think I'm finally getting ready for my next challenge: digital painting.
I truly hope you like how this picture ended. If you have suggestions of any kind like always don't hesitate to let me know :3

Yes they're digital, but the technique doesn't quite qualify as digital painting since I use lineart and other artificial effects.
The idea of the digital painting is to work in a similar way that you do in traditional media (which I of course also do) without lineart, using brushes and working from shapes to details :P
Digital painting is something like the geat artists at DA do all the time. That's my goal ^^

Oh WOW! That is beautiful work!
Pardon the gushing, I'll get a mop...
Astonishing background, that is clearly headed for digital painting. Lovely seascape.
And the fox... just Gray foxes are really quite colorful. I love how you used the orange as accents, particularly the "blush" on her cheeks.
(The smooth gray fur is clearly a bit of artistic license - they're a salt-and-pepper, but the texture would have to be kept really soft to keep with the rest of the picture.)
And you do clothing so beautifully well...
...I just made another puddle, didn't I?
The only thing that I'm left wondering about is her mouth - what is she doing? Is that her lip, teeth, or tongue showing?

Okay, just a bit hard to tell. I'd expect more shadow and open space there than teeth, right about there only the tips would be visible. (And why do I keep typing visible as vixible? Too many foxes?)
Yep, that's the schematic symbol. Seem to be a good number of people around here that recognize it!

I'm honestly breath taken by this. not only is the girl beautiful but the background itself is so amazing and detailed it just pulls me into the artwork. this is a work of art of the highest degree, and the person that commissioned this better have this framed and hanging on his wall somewhere for all to see it!
Wow, many many thanks for your words!
Is when people appreciate art like this that I feel like I'm doing a good job. I feel like I'm still learning and that I still have many things to learn and to practice. But comments like yours really boost my confidence and spirit.
I'm feeling very happy with the outcome of this pic and the reaction of the people. I certainly need to do stuff like this more often. Sadly not al commissioners ask for stuff that can be this appealing, but I try my best everytime :P

Actually yes. Curiously enough this was a character based only on the directions of the commissioner and the standard colors of a gray fox.
What makes the characters to look a lot alike is the hair color, which was what the commissioner requested. So I'm pretty sure you can call it simple luck :P
