People are just undedicated, unmotivated, and lazy. They don't wanna put in all the hard work to get awesome, so they whine and gripe >A<

Agreed. i got someone the other day lamenting in my stream how they didn't feel like a proper furry because they couldn't draw. Needless to say my reaction was "Wat..."

I got tired of politely saying "practice your ass off" and getting the same bullshit excuses like "Oh I just don't have time, I don't feel like it" to that I now say " Then you really don't want it!" xD Jeez people.

Amen... don't complain you don't have the time, i doodled EVERYWHERE i FOUND time because i had the passion. to me "i don't have the time" = "i'd rather play videogames"

people have plenty of time, the problem is they don't manage it correctly.

I actually graduated 2 weeks late because I would gaff off homework to draw. xD People always say that's all they ever see me do is draw. I draw 24/7. lol I've got a lot of motivation behind it. Every time I show my work to someone and they say, "I wish I could draw," I respond, "So do I." Not because i don't feel I lack the skill to do so, but because i feel that if I stop wishing I could draw, then I would stop drawing.

Also, consider that people may be faving this for its message, not necessarily its content.

I can't draw, really I can't. It's the artistic mind, my artistic talent is in music and a bit of carpentry. I screw up stick figures!

I've been hearing that all my time drawing. And it's been SUCH a roller coaster ride. Sometimes a sketch comes out just as I imagined. Often, I can't even get past the basic torso. And the HANDS D:

....actually ^^; I am the closest one to take after him.....but it's not too bad I take meds for it....plus friends and family...you can't go wrong

I think people are faving this less for the quality, and more for the example you are setting that yes, it takes time to becomes good.... but it IS possible :)

You know, I look back at the stuff I've drawn even two years ago and see a vast improvement. I still won't say I'm good, but I'm capable of improvement. Cripes on DA if I go back to my first ones it's all *CRINGE* What the hell was I thinking?

I know I'm prone to griping and that's purely because I'm not where I want to be and can't get to my goals fast enough. :P

My art is pretty bad (at least in my own opinion), though even I've gotta admit I improved quite a bit in the three months of my first quarter at the Art Institute. I know I need to be able to draw some, at the least, to do game design so that a more talented artist can make my concept drawings into proper art, but I'd really rather write. >.> lol

Honestly those who actually Want it and say they can't draw are normally intimidated by a lot of the awesomeness they see on here, whether it be the anime style, realistic style, or anything in between. They tend to look down at their stick figures, up at art like yours, back at their sticks figures, and throw their hands up in frustration. At least from what I've seen.

Personally it's a combination of two things. One, this basic frustration, even with knowing that every artist has had to start somewhere (logic vs emotion, round two!). It's hard not to get somewhat disheartened when I fail even at the basic tutorials. Two, I've had spouts where I could actually draw well. For example, in art class back in the seventh grade I did pretty decent. I even made a conture line drawing of a student across the room I was Very proud of. My mind figured out the tricks for the look I wanted, and my hands actually cooperated. Another times was when I was sick with the flu. Think I was 19 maybe? Used my dog, a long haired dauchund, and one of our cats in about five or six comics. I was able to make all the old tricks work, all the classic looks run. I stopped for a bit because I ran out of ideas for the comic. Tried getting back to it about a week later, and everything I was able to draw, everything that had almost come instinctively, failed me.

I think that's the hardest part for me. I'll see myself doing well for a spell, and then for some reason it all escapes me. Like a disconnect between my brain and hand.

The difference is, I normally don't complain about it xp I have my writing, which can take up more than enough of my complaining time, thank you! XD
