I thought that the social commentary in cartoons where the human girls were in relationships with anthropomorphic men was kinda cute and pretty honest in showing how some people don't care if you're a filthy rude animal, they still love you.

Now this piece was actually inspired by Shane-Frost's simplistic and textured work. Thanks for the inspiration. And if you don't know who that is, go look them up. They're pretty good.
