During the battle with Calhoun on his way to Emerald Lake, Korban and his new allies were hard pressed to defend themselves from the Dark Phoenix. He witnessed his girlfriend, Tsume, about to be wailed upon and used whatever strength he had left to protect her. Though something was off, he was starting to pulsate and his eyes changed from blue and green to blood red as hatred and rage filled conscious, transforming him into his Immortal's Trigger for the first time. However due to the overload of negative emotions, the spirit of the sword easily overpowered Korban and controlled his every move. The blade itself also became more wicked and demonic, becoming shorter, sleeker and the blunt end becoming serrated for more lethal strikes, as well as unlocking an attack called Chaotic Punishment. After much training, Korban can now call upon this power at will and maintain conscious control of himself for an extended period of time.
