Words to live by indeed, as I have heard more than once that usually marrying your best friend usually means you will last, because the two of you already had a lot going into the relationship, before marriage was ever brought to the table. Great image, great proverb.
Amen, you two. I've always felt that is pretty true... love may begin there when it is all fresh and new, but it is like ice over the lake... during the weight of troubles, it will cave in if there is nothing deeper there to support under it. It seems many jump into a marriage quickly.. their girl is hot, they fall in romantic love and all that, but then 5 years later, they've nothing in common... the mating grows old (I still haven't figured that one out), they argue all the time. Make a friend first before going after a tail.

I guess this is one reason I've never tried terribly hard to find someone myself.. I see others hurt too badly by investing so much into something just to have it fail later. Now I'm just too damn old...
