This, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when i play too much Borderlands 2, I create my own deployable turret. I give you the Direwolf Deployable Turret, as is its pretty much how you'd get it out of the box. Pre-upgraded, deploys in a digitizing fashion like a Scoprio or Sabre turret and undeploys in a similiar way.
I 'tried' to make an ammo drum with some links running to it, but that fell through so i fell back on my old hammer space magazine design. Unlimited ammunition, so long as the turret is opperable.
"it looks small." Nope, its quite large, actually. The rotary gun part of it spits large 10mm rounds (10mm slug in neckless rifle type catridges) at a satisfying speed. Any enemy that finds itself staring down a Direwolf Turret is going to be in an immediate world of hurt, dismembered limbs, and explosions.
The Direwolf already sports a pair of missile pods and a laser sight to ensure that that turret is putting its payload where its desired to be.

That aside, I'm actually quite happy with this design, first auto-turret-ish design i've made that didn't make me at any time want to scrap it and start over.
Took maybe 3 or 4, 5 tops, hours to make it color it and get it presentable.

The turret getting use as a CIWS isn't going to bother me, if you took the turret as it is, a deployable turret, and just changed its colors, changed its caliber, wether it had misiles or not, etc etc and then refielded it as a deployable turret then yeah it'd probably fall out of favor. But you taking it onto a vehicle or scaling it up and reboring it isn't going to bother me.
