A trance music I've just started writing about 2 weeks ago. It's not completed yet; just showing what I've done so far.
I admit, some of the key factors to my slowness at producing any newer trance music is not only because of my IRL university life taking up my time, but also because of FL Studio 10's revamped playlist editor. Boy, how I miss the old pattern editor in the older versions of FL Studio. x_x I'm pissed by the fact that they've completely removed the pattern editor in favor of doing all the editing exclusively within the much more flexible playlist editor; apparently because most FL Studio users these days sequence their music within the playlist editor. I'm one of the very few FL Studio users who still used to rely exclusively on the pattern editor... Heck, my track, "Seribu Janji", the last track I've written in Fl Studio 9, was entirely sequenced within the pattern editor, with the playlist editor used only for automations.
For this song, I used FL Studio 10's "Lock to content" feature, so that the playlist channels mimic the functionality of the old pattern editor, and then I isolated the automation patterns so that they're separated from the note patterns. Suddenly, my production speed improved considerably. I've finally escaped the 2-minute barrier that plagued my recent FL Studio 10 songs before this.
I'm thinking of posting the full, completed song in SoundCloud. Not a member yet, but I'll be joining that website once I've finished this song someday.
