This is Tangelwedsibel, shortly after having established herself in Willow Run. She has friends, a place to stay, and will shortly find a job in the local bake shop. (Where she'll learn to bake, then cook so she can eventually open her own restuarant. But all that's down the road.) You can see Tangel' has discovered pizza slices. She's also discovered that pigeons like to be fed, but Tangel' is a little nervous about it. "Key Largo Lemon & Lime Cola" does't exist, but it probably should. I think it would be delicious! Old furs may recognize the grafitti. It isn't regular tagging, it's that alphabet Steve Gallaci invented in Albedo.
That may or may not be Wendy O'Donnell, from "Wendy & the House Gamins" (a plotted but unwritten kid's book) in the pizzeria.

Well... years ago in the Huntington Gardens in LA, I was shown a grove of green bamboo that people from all over the world had carved their names or initials. I added my name... in "Kjola", a fictional language I made up for Saara. (I call it Siroihin now.) Nobody but nobody is going to figure it out.
I suppose, dear, that I am thus an old fur, for I remember Standard, created by Gallacci for Albedo. In fact, up until five or six years prior I likely could have read it, too.
From your comment about Siroihn, I would love to see how it looks (having this odd liking for various alien fonts / glyphs). Of course, having a key to figure it out of course is a boon on top of that.
On a note about the art, I utterly ADORE how she looks. She is pure cute and adorable. I'd probably want, were she to be amenable to it, to snuggle her for a few hours. Nothing lewd, mind you, just cuddle as one might a living fuzzy toy. ^_^ She is TOO bloody CUTE! Heehee!
Many thanks for the art,

Damned if I can remember what that grafitti is supposed to say. Maybe nothing -- I could have just cobbled it together and it only looks like Standard.
I'll have to see if I can find some Siroihin in a picture, and maybe post it in Scraps. It might even appear in something I've already got posted. I can't tell from the thumbnails I saved of galler pages, and would have to look through my actual art folders for larger image.

Never a problem, dear. Take your time. I'm well aware that you are a busy man, love, and I would in no ways wish to trouble you overmuch. I am merely one of those folk who is fascinated by alien languages and their writing systems. Should you have free time, even a scanned-in piece of notebook paper showing the writing alongside its' English phonetic equivalent would be more than welcome. Yes, dear, I'm a scrap fox, and I worry not on fancy when intrigued by something. ^_^
However long it takes, it takes. I'm patient, and interested.
With many hugs and pleasant greetings,

Go to my scraps area. I've posted a set of "handwriting samples" of my characters that include Saara's name written in Siroihin. There's also a photo of me (much younger, this was 1984), standing next to the bamboo trunk with m name carved iin Siroihin -- I bet you can find it.
The first is impossible to view (the file lacks all extensions and downloads as a 0-byte file), the latter is faint, but barely visible.
Thanks, though. As always, I shall await any other info.
Yours with interest (no, I don't know what percent),

She's a little too long in the lower leg, actually. I experimented in those days, sometimes going for a more compact look, and other times for an almost "on stilts" look. There are other drawings of Tangel' or her kind where the center line through the leg is more nearly straight, and others that are more bent. In some poses you just can't make it work at all. I guess the Teh Langgi probably wouldn't ever be in such positions then --- too uncomfortable.
Several years ago I happened to look in a random copy of TMNT while visiting a local comixmongery, and observed a brief interchange between the Turtles and some visiting person, the former fixing dinner in a brisk Iron Chef manner and explaining the while why they always insisted on doing so for Master Splinter - mainly as a sign of respect for him (and incidently they hated finding hair in their food!).In alternate panels, Splinter is seen fixing his own meal over a small fire in the woods, and suddenly spitting out a mouthful of whatever it was he was eating.
I'm sure Tengel' never had any problems like that #cough#

Even human chefs have to take precautions when cooking -- the stupid "chef's" hat, for instance, is mainly to keep head hair from falling into the soup, though it doesn't seem to me to be as effective as some sort of bathing cap. Furry people's culture would probably have customs that involve a thorough brushing before you play with food, possibly even before sitting down to a meal.
