And here is my commission from Dark Natasha... myself in feral dragon form, rising from the swamp to the regret of those I find, dragging them down to their doom in the warm, wet muck...
Day 14: This is was all a big mistake it seems. We came to this swamp on rumors that someplace deep inside was a place of great riches... a horde of some long gone dragon who had lived here a generation ago. No one had seen it in so long that it was already fading into legend, along with the memory of mounds of rare items, art and weapons seen by the natives when they traveled the secret path to leave tribute for the beast.
After gathering info from the reluctant natives, we managed to get a few to guide us out into the swamp. Well supplied with food, weapons and excavation tools, we were 25 when we started out.
Then the problems began. The first was when, a day out, the guide who knew the path vanished, leaving us lost in the swamp. The next day, the hoverboat carrying most of the supplies mysteriously sank, taking several of our crew with it. Though the water was shallow enough to stand in in places non of the five who fell in came to the surface again; we had to move on for fear of quicksand.
The next day, two others screamed for a quick moment, then were gone; no one could see what happened, they were just gone. Ten more vanished in the night; the tracker in the group told us he had found sign that they had tried to sneak off... then their trail was wiped out by something. Only a single boot, just below the surface of the water remained to show they ever existed.
One by one, we lost the rest of our supplies and our group. Only the one native that hadn't vanished remained, so terrified of what he had gotten into that all he was good for was staring in fear and starting at every sound.
We lost our tracker today... the only one other than myself and the native who had survived... or escaped? Who can tell? I think we *might* be getting close to the border of the swamp, though I have no idea which one; the ground is growing firmer and less waterlogged every moment. I think... Wait, what IS tha
