Whoa, that has just such a cool style to it. The texture makes it look like a real traditional painting, but even beyond that, the coloring makes Drowzee stand out nicely. Even the background has some great colors. This is truly awesome. Great work on it.

The texture I used is a basic SAI one c:

It's a very nice texture. Did you use a slightly denser/finer texture for, uh, texturizing Drowzee? If so, that's a really nice touch rather than just splattering a texture all over the place, and even if not, it sure fooled me (might just be the colors, too?).

In the newest version of SAI, there is something called paint effects... and it's amazing. Uhmmm, it's kind of an overlay that completely redos the look of your image.

Oh really? So it's generated automatically? That's a nice filter/effect. Looks so much nicer than so many of the Photoshop ones you see, especially for textures.

In my opinion SAI is a lot nicer than photoshop, just doesn't have some of the extra fun stuff photoshop has.

Oh, I agree. SAI is beautiful for the actual drawing, coloring, shading, etc. I see Photoshop as more of a "final touchup" thing, and even then, it's not always (if ever) needed. I just wish people would stop using blatantly obvious default textures built into Photoshop in a poor manner, because I've seen a few decent pieces of art get a "texture" effect that just screams a poor editing job on Photoshop. Yours is pulled off incredibly well, though (yay SAI).
