4chan is the armpit of the asshole of the internet, thats what makes it so great. It's a Japanese style image board site, with no archive or memory. That means threads are deleted after a few hours. If nobody replies to a post, it never lasts. Everyone is anonymous, nobody can be traced, especially using a proxy server. No accounts either, but you can still be IP banned if you do stupid shit there.

Threads and posts usually involve people posting funny shit, racist stuff, etc as images to get people to reply to their posts and bump their threads. This is were the best memes start, the /b/ category especially.

Oh right and a common rule on 4chan is that everyone is a "fag" of somekind. So everyone really gets a designation with the fag suffix. You have newfags, oldfags, moralfags, Eurofags, ponyfags, furfags, etc. For not knowing about 4chan, your what is called a newfag.
