yep,
My girlfriend turned 30 today.
but I gotta say, i had this fun idea to buy a custom sound greeting
card so i could put this song on it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu4w6dkYsXU
something fun to hear when you open it up
but holy lord, it is next to impossible to find a customizable card,
i mean, it could've been any card and i would paste my graphics over
top of the existing image, but, apparently Hallmark hates me to the
fact they do not want the average person to be creative on any level.
long story short, I didn't get the card that sings, instead I had to make
this thing completely using the printer, but, the story was pretty funny
explaining it too. Just something else to not buy, lol.
the main reason I went with earthbound though is because,
it was really one of the first games we played a lot together,
that game and secret of mana.
anywho,
hope you guys enjoy.

Yes, but Secret of Mana had some reall sad moments in it, especially toward the end.
I loved the game, and still do, and still have my copy, which I play from time to time.
Did you know you can get a rom of it's sequel? Seiken Densetsu 3, Also known as Secret of Mana 2, which is actually, according to Squaresoft, a prequel to Secret of Mana, and that both games are actually part of the Final Fantasy mythos? It is also one of the first Action-based RPG's!
Here is the list of action-based RPG's of the early console era in order of appearance.
1. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons for the Intellivision.
2. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2 for the Intellivision.
3. Zelda 2
4. Crystalis
5. Secret of Mana
6. Seiken Densetsu 3
At least, I think that's the order..I'll have to look into it more thoroughly.
My favorite things about Secret of Mana are the immersive story, the graphics, monster and character designs, and the music. Oooohhh my god, the Musiiiiiic!

oh yea,
I know all about secret of mana,
and then we later discovered Legend of Mana for ps1,
which seemed to be that one game that stayed on the shelf at Wal-Mart, Waaaaaaay
after ps1 had died with the original 39.99 sticker still on it,
kinda like how fatal frame II did for the ps2 also with a price that never seemed to reduce.

Lol, yeah. Another game I found kind of interesting, but also awkward, was Illusion of Gaia. I had a copy, but it got stolen.
One game I could never play was Final Fantasy. I couldn't stand the turn-based fighting, mostly because I couldn't suspend the belief that your enemy would wait their turn to attack you, nor could I believe they'd wait long enough for you to attack them.
There are a few exceptions to the rule, though, such as RPG's that allow you to time a sequence of buttons to commit stronger strikes, such as Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars, and Vagrant Story for the PS1. I ~love~ Vagrant Story, by the way! AWESOME GAME! The graphics are gritty and dark, but the story, the characters, and gameplay are ~great~!
I recently downloaded a rom of MEgaman Legends 2, since I can't find a copy for under 50 bucks anywhere, and played it for the first time ever. I'm in love with it as much as I am with my legitimate copy of MEgaman Legends. A little off-topic, but since we were on the subject of gaming, I couldn't help but add that.
