Lone wolf Mercenary no more (w/story)
As Ghost packed up his gear, several dozen shots began to ring out as the bodyguards and local militia began firing at the building he was in. The only reason they knew where the shot came from was the angle and considering the building in was in was the tallest around. Seems the enemy was lucky and correct in the building but not the right floor. Ghost had moved far enough away from the window that any shots that came in only hit the ceiling so he was safe...for the moment. Just grabbing his AR he made break for the staircase for a quick escape. But as he turned the corner he bumped into someone and fell onto the ground pointing his gun at this person which was a rather large tiger, though this person he bumped into did not point their gun back at him. "So your Ghost?" The tiger said with a feminine voice with a slight Irish accent. "And who the hell are you?" Ghost responded. "I'm Fiona. I'm your backup." She said with a grin as he stood up.
Time flashes back to one week ago, prior to Ghost accepting this job. A human male with brown hair, white skin and sunglasses on exits his car and walks to the front door of a large house that sits near Washington coast. The man knocks on the door, waiting for a response but gets no answer so he knocks again. Soon the door swings open. "Jones? What the fuck are you doing here? You know I'm taking a vacation." Ghost said, standing there in just some pajama bottoms. "I know Ghost. Can I come in?" Ghost just sighed and let him in, shutting the door behind him. "Nice place. I see all your money wasn't wasted." Jones said complimenting about his place. As he looked upstairs, he saw a young bunny girl walking around with her robe open. Blushing and closing it once she saw the man looking at her, getting out of sight. "Seems you have fine taste in women too." He said with a chuckle. Ghost just giving him a glare. "Yeah it was a place to get away from you people but seems I need to find another hideout...." He grumbled and made his way to the kitchen, Jones following right behind him.
Ghost poured himself a cup of coffee as Jones tossed a file onto the table. "Whats that?" Ghost asked. "The job." Jones responded as he took a seat in one of the chairs at the table. Ghost set down his coffee and took the file, opening it up and reading it. "I heard of this guy, supposedly the best arms dealer on the planet." "Also the most corrupt...." Jones said with a sigh. "We paid him to drop a small cache of guns and ammo to one of our teams in the field. They received the guns but sadly these weapons were defective....The whole team was killed...." He said with a bit of sadness. "Sorry....but that's the life of a Merc." Ghost responded. "Yeah but not when he did it on purpose! He sent those guns to them, knowing they wouldn't survive! He stole our cash and got people killed! He has to pay Ghost!" He yelled out as he stood up and slammed his fist on the table. Ghost giving him a look and then looking at the file. "I'll do it....but double my standard assassination rate." "Deal." Jones said as he shook his hand and the deal was made.
Three days ago. An older gentleman sits in his office smoking a cigar as he looks out his window admiring the scenery. Soon a knock is heard at his door. "Enter." He said in a soft tone, still looking out the window. The door opens and enters Jones. "You wanted to see me sir?" "Ahh Jones, yes come in. Close the door." He swings his chair around, pressing a button to his intercom. "Peggy please hold my calls and see we are not bothered. Thank you dear. Now Jones, did you bring me the file I wanted?" The man asked. "Ummm Yes Mr. White but I don't see why you needed it, Ghost already accepted the job." Setting it down on his desk. Mr. White leaned over and opened the file, revealing a head shot picture of Fiona. "I know he did, but this woman asked for the job and you denied her." "But sir....she doesn't have the experience like he does for this kind of job." Jones explained. "True but if she partners with the best they she will be the best." Mr. White said as he read over her file speaking out loud. "Fiona Sharpclaw....Born in Ireland....lived there til she was 18 then her father recruited her and trained. Who was her father Jones?" He asked. "Ummm Rin Sharpclaw sir, apperently he knocked up Fiona's human mother when he was there working with the IRA. Fiona's mother passed when she was 15, guess the father thought it would be best to teach her how survive and live like him." Jones explained. "Hmmm I see. Well she seems like a good soldier....Excellent marksmen.....Quite strong and physical. But...." Mr. White paused. "But no real combat experience. Most of her jobs involved Bodyguard duty, which never got attacked." "Well guess its time for this cub to get her feet wet. Send her out on one of our retrieval yachts. She will infiltrate by sea, meet up with Ghost and they will complete it together." Mr. White ordered as he turned his chair back around to the window. "By sea sir?" "Yes. You have her going with him then he will probably cancel the OP before it begins. If she meets up with him, he will have to work with her." Grinning a little. "We will call it....A happy little coincidence." "Yes sir..." Jones as said he grabbed the file and left, having now to debrief Fiona on the whole situation.
Present day. Ghost is standing up and glaring at Fiona. "Backup? Backup!? I don't need backup!" He yelled at her. "Well that's not what Mr. White thinks, that is why he set me here to team up with you and complete the job." "White....I really hate that guy..." Ghost said with a grumble. "Besides, jobs done. So I suggest you get out of my way and..." Pausing as he could loud chatter coming from the stair. "Well shit.....that's not good..." Ghost said with a sigh as their primary escape route was blocked. Now they had to find another way out quickly or they were good as dead.
