Though I've had all the less success with anything off the computer than I have had on.
Can never figure out why. Pencils and pens and paints and everything else just comes out looking terrible when I try them.

Whatever works for you! That's exactly the opposite of my experience.. when I tried digital art with a drawing tablet thingy last year it would take me hours to get basic lines down.. it was such a difficult process that I didn't see the picture I was going to draw in my head and quickly lost the will to try.

Yeah, it took me a long time to get over the experiential hump of disassociated hands and drawing. I'm quite glad I did, though. I mean, I can doodle with a pencil, and I can do some really basic shading with it, but any kind of more advanced shading, or of texturing, inking, or colouring, or whatever have you just looks terrible no matter how I try.

Which doesn't really bother me. Digital is more convenient anyways. I mean, it means that all my options are made available with the use of only a single physical tool instead of dozens.

But I love flailing around with a million different items to juggle!

Obviously working digitally works for you. I envy you for your CTRL+Z ability!
