I'm not sure what the shelter employees are calling him, but this is Myfina's son. The really odd thing is that he is her only kitten. It's not that she had a full litter and he's the only one that survived, but he's really the only kitten she had. Does anyone know how common/uncommon that is?

The fact is, that cats can have more kittens by various toms because of the way they ovalate, so it's actually not that rare, uncommon, but not rare for a single kitten if the cat only released one egg and did it with only one tom, was this her first? I know my Cocoa, her first kitten, she only had one. But they said she also likely aborted the others without us knowing, because of what happened to her (she was shot with a beebee gun.. the kid that did it suffered greatly..)
The shelter folks don't really know a lot about Myfina, because she was only left outside the shelter shortly before she had her kitten. She's fairly young though, so this very well could have been her first litter. I really hope nothing bad happened to her before they took her in... And people are ridiculous. "lol, someone's precious cat, I should shoot it" >< I hope you took that BB gun and shoved it up his butt.
I was like 5 at the time, my brothers went over and while I gave the guy the 'big wet eye look' they beat the shit out of him. LOL (um, yea, my family is practiclty mafia at times LOL) needless to say, the kid paid big time and not just getting his head busted by 5 big boys, but my parents called the police who called the local SPCA and the parents then busted the other half of the kid's brains when they got the ticket for his actions.
