I think this is actually pretty good. I like the way you're doing backgrounds lately. :> Especially that water shading.
Though if I might suggest, a sunset is a perfect chance for some really wacky color use, cool contrasting shadows with edge lighting. Especially since that sunset might be reflecting in the water, there's a lot of cool stuff you could do here.

You developed an excellent color scheme from the Blueberry Badger's main colours! The background i simple, painterly, and atmospheric! Blueberry himself looks at peace and dignity here. I ike the hints of fluff you gave him (especially the one on his chest!). I even like the tiny tail wag!
