Two days ago, this sweet boy arrived on my doorstep.
This is Mort, my Russian Tortoise. He's about 5 inches long, and won't get much if any bigger. He's happily living in his rather large terrarium, with lots of coconut substrate to dig in, and his log home to hide in. Complete with a cactus to dig up (dang you Mort, you may not want it in that corner, but I do!)
He's taking a little while to adjust, but thats okay. Can't say I blame him. We're already making progress. He doesn't mind his feet being touched, though is very head shy. We'll work on that. He's already gotten used to my hand being in his terrarium to clean while he wanders around. Doesn't just tuck away in to his shell, just walks around as if not a care in the world.
Some people may not like reptiles as pets. But I love Mort jsut as much as any of my other pets. He's sweet, timid, and has a lot of personality.

Poor Jean-Luc will always look a little worse for wear, while he is healthy now he has some permanent issues due to his previous neglect. D:

Thanks so much! I'm giong to give my all to make sure he has the best care possible. Tomorrow, I'll be heading to the store for more organic veg for him.

<3 Kale is supposed to be one of the best foods for them but Jean-Luc hates it. His favorite is Red Leaf Lettuce lol.
He is such an awesome guy, I only took him to find him a home but then he hissed at me and I fell deep in love. I don't even remember whatever metal head name that dude had given him, he became captain of his own ship with one tiny sound. :X
