They're more shy than the ground squirrels around here, but so cute. I felt I'd really accomplished something when I got them to take the cheetoh out of my fingers. Ground squirrels will climb up in your lap and slap you to get your attention if you don't feed them fast enough.

You got Holstein birds? I wouldn't have guessed. Seagulls are pretty aggressive too, but bluejays. *shakes her head* they just take the cake in my book. I had one divebomb me one time to grab a little baked pie right out of my hand. Came from behind and freaked me out. Sumbitch.......I was hungry too!! Snatched that pie right out of my fingers and kept on going.

Maybe you have a different one down there. Here they will eat what you give them but they aren't thieves like the jays are. Jays are just downright the most cocky things on wings in this part of the world. (kinda like a certain gryphon I know, now I think about it....)

Heh, you should see it when you have a gathering of Jays, gray squirrels and Fox squirrels. Going about the yard, pushing each other in line at the bird feeders and then you shoot an unshelled peanut into their midst and they go wild!

I've been pretty drained, school mostly, but I'm enjoying it for the most part, I've also been busy with commissions and whatnot, other than that there really ain't much going on atm

They really are! And very polite too. Each waiting their turn patiently, then trotting off to a covenient rock to perch on while they nibble away daintily.
