This came together after midnight in a dark room with only the monitor for light and headphones on to keep the sound low. Before that, I had the first thirty seconds or so, but with different, harsher instruments, and I was struggling with what direction to take it. My sleep-deprived night trance proved the inspiration for how the song turned out.
My mother loves this song. She's into Enya and Enigma, that kind of thing.
"Hypnic" is an (obscure) adjective meaning sleep inducing, or related to sleep. The Chinese name to the side of the English name is "Twilight Dream".
There are no pre-made loops used in this song (I wrote every note). I can see the appeal of them, because there are some sweet sounds in pre-made loops, and it's easier besides, but all the songs start sounding the same if they're based on the same public loop bank, and that makes me sad. The software used was Apple's Garage Band. I didn't use a midi keyboard. All of the instruments in this song should be stock synths that came with the program, but it's possible I modified the settings on a few of them.
Please comment and tell me how you liked it, and any suggestions you have for improvement in the future.
PS: I'm not a native speaker of Chinese and I have few opportunities to practice and learn, so if you want to correct my writing, please be welcome to do so.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! GarageBand really comes with some nice instruments for this type of music -- I only wish I could have more control to modify them. I have a self-remix that combines this song and another one I haven't uploaded yet, and it has a very different feel. I'll probably get around to putting it up eventually.
GarageBand is a mac program that comes packaged with OS X. I don't like it as much as FL Studio, actually. FL Studio gives you a lot more power -- it may be harder to get into, but once you do, the depth is enormous. GarageBand kind of feels like I'm in a walled garden.
