In RL, the sky wasn't quite as dark- or purple-looking. I was experimenting with graduated neutral density lens filters. Rather than simply enhancing contrast in the sky, it seems the ones I bought are slightly chromatic.....The fact that I got them on the cheap form China might explain that. But yes, they sky and land is gorgeous in Nova Scotia. :3 The furs are really nice to! ^^
I'm happy you like it! =P And agreed about they sky--I am rather pleased with this one! ^^;;
I do have many more photos from the BBQ but I'll have to get around to posting them. Sorry to hear about Sigi's computer. :/ I do have all of Sigi's and my photos though so they're not lost forever. I can try to bring them with me next time I'm in Halifax. ^.^

Hi Skyfox! :3 It's a combination of things really. The filter does play a part, especially in regard to the sky. And indirectly, lowering the brightness of the sky allows the camera to bring out the foreground. (Digital cameras normally tend to over-expose the sky.) It was also a great day for photography: sunny but with some clouds. Good lighting and subject matter always helps! Lastly, I did do some post-production using the RAW file to enhance and adjust the contrast, brightness, and saturation. ^^ The RAW photo was pretty decent to begin with and that always helps. ;3
I guess that answers the question I just left in your other reply, asking whether you shoot in RAW. I suppose the next question is, what RAW developing program do you use? I've been trying out 5 of them (UFRaw, RawTherapee, Darktable, Lightzone, and the Canon software that came with my camera) and each one has pluses and minuses.
