Those are both cool. I would think you wouldn't want to "harm" either of them and turn it into something else.

Well, eventually the small one is going into a ring, and the large one is actually a low quality trillobite, so I wouldn't mind using it as a centerpiece for when I burn

You must have a bunch of fossils huh? I only got half of a large shellfish type thing. Spiral shell with a bunch of ridges.

I found my one half fossil was found on the side of a highway during an excavation by my city. I happen to see it by sheer chance.

Morocco, most commercial fossils come from there.

Here in Czech republic we have ample deposits of these fossils as well. Trilobites are very common in Barrandien area south-west of our capital, Prague, which is covered by sediments from Cambrian to Devonian of paleozoic.

They must be nice and inexpensive, the large one I paid $20 for the little one was $5, I got a good deal on the large one IMO

This guy might be of help to you in identifying the age, and subspecies of those trilobites. Hes quite expert in trilobites, if I remember correctly (I studied geology long ago).

I loooove fossils. I have a complete clam shell, a few shell imprints and my boyfriend has a huge trillobite that his family found when they lived in California.
I wish there were places to find fossils where I live. *sigh*

I normally would want to preserve the dead and their remains and protect them... fossils are the same...
