The looks and expressions that were received from one village to the next was always the same, the odd, confused and disbelief in the looks of the villagers as they looked upon the duo who would roll in with the mist that had foreshadowed the trouble that took place from one village to the next that they visited in order to aid.
How odd it was for a feline to be with a canine, let alone partners in action who's jobs seem to be opposite of the other. One wore light clothes so that their maneuverability was never limited and their freedom of movement allowed them to venture where others couldn't. The other wore steel to protect their body and limbs, scathed and scratched to show prior battles that had taken place before their adventure to the next village... one focused more on striking their opponents from a distance and picking them off between the eyes while the other preferred the closeness with thy enemy, steel against steel, wits and strength against the other.
These two were always looked at as a suicidal, rag tag duo who came to stop whatever seemed to trouble the villages with little payment, enough for the both of them to fill their stomachs and equip themselves with a few bits of gold, silver and copper to take on to the next village but it was always just them, no army, no others, no reinforcements at all. The villagers couldn't help but think that relying on these two would bring them their freedom and salvation from where countless other mercenaries or even groups of their own village militia couldn't save them, it was always the same and though it had taken a long time to get use to it, the two never seemed to show any hostility or displeasure in the villagers thoughts.
It was through action that they would come to prove the villagers wrong, asking their leaders to prepare them food like the next villager and a place to stay the night in order to collect themselves before setting out to battle the unknown that was the villages problem. There were never any words slipped between one another or the village leaders of 'what if's' or 'If we/I don't make it back', no simply 'We'll be back before you even miss us' or 'please don't worry about us, we can handle ourselves' were given to those of the village and off they would go.
Days, weeks and very rarely, months would pass before their return. No blood spilled upon their clothes and armor for if ever there was, it was certain they would clean it off before returning to ensure their clothes lasted or the armor endured and never rested. The heads, claws, teeth or whatever significant piece of the things that trouble the villagers would always be revealed to show that they had done as they asked. Accepting their small pay and leaving without as much as a word except for the occasional dismissive, light tone of declining requests to stay and rest or eat up, villages needed their help and as much as a rag tag duo, they were the only ones who knew how to look after one another and do what they did best, aid those who were in need of help.
Though there goes a tale that very few know and some seem to call it a Myth, despite as much as they look like they could potentially be a couple, everyone believed it impossible due to the opposites of the species and the knowledge that came with the hate from one specie to the next.. though there was a rumor spoken that when all was said and done, one little boy watched as they went to traverse that fog again, catching a glimpse of one another's paw, meeting in unison...
══════════════════════════════════Words alone cannot fathom the love or enjoyment for this picture alone. The attention to detail, the mixed digital art with painting in the background, the colors and patterns, as well as the ability to capture the two as they were.. simply amazing. This piece was commissions a few months back and it was well worth the wait, especially when a change of scene and members was needed and I think the choice of whom I wanted in the picture turned out well and as the Snow Leopard says, they alone seem to show the possible connection that this Husky and the Snow Leopard have come to develop.
BunnyBones really out did herself, especially in consideration to going out of her element and tackling something she wasn't use to or knew she wasn't exactly good with, Armor, Weapons and Detailed scenery like that. Kudos alone aren't enough to say to Bunny for what she's done and the dedication she put into this piece so I gotta thank her a huge bunch for pulling everything together and making it work, especially to the idea of what I saw in it. Thank you Bunny!!
