Richard Bedlam, senior agent of the DEP and a noted specialist in the occult. Currently in his forties, Bedlam has spent the better half of the last two decades dealing with all manner of cultists, possessions, demons, and worse. The lingering effects of this paranormal exposure has led him to become a notable alcoholic, even if he is a functional one.

Formerly the partner of Agent Gurney until the latter's promotion to captain. He now takes care of the upstart Andrew Decker. The two get along very well despite their opposing behaviors; Bedlam keeps Decker in line and Decker keeps Bedlam from being a mopey, angry old man. You can often find them in the cafeteria cracking jokes to themselves about their exploits; if Bedlam is alone, you can probably find him at every bar in town.
