After that whole fiasco with my new Cintiq not working right, and the subsequence joy brought on from fixing the problem, I decided to do a bunch of sketches with it. Can't resist playing with the new toy now, can I? :)
These were the first things I'd drawn with it, and I had a heap of fun doing it. Just a collection of random doodles - even let my housemate have a go on it.
So yes, I'm happy and I feel like I've been able to work quicker with it. I'm still yet to finish the animation I working on, but that's going MUCH faster now that I can draw directly onto the screen. :D

Well it's the Cintiq, so it's just a matter of drawing on a screen rather than mentally translating your hand position to what you see.
Aside from setting up the shortcut keys how I like them, the settings are pretty much at the defaults. I tend not to play around with those too much anyway. I've been using tablets for about 10 years though, so it's just a matter of getting the time in to get used to it.

Hmn, practice means that tablet-screen translation isn't too bad for me. But I will likely consider an upgrade when I have an actual income, hah!
What brush settings do you use for sketching? I'm certain I've asked that before, but my memory is truly awful, heh. My stuff always comes out too heavy-lined for sketching well. And too dark.
