So this is the foam work on Maus. He is more fitted to the wearer than I had intended however he seems to look good from all 360 degrees so I've begun the duct taping process. Any suggestions and advice are welcome.
Also, here's a video of me goofing around with it on:

Thank ya!
To cut the foam I use an electric knife. Like what you use for carving turkeys and such. You can find them at walmart. The mesh I used for the eyes is called bachrum. I'm not sure on the spelling. (Bahk-rum). Anyway it's a type of interfacing used for sewing. You can find it at any fabric store and it is what's most commonly used for this style of eyes. If you have any other questions or comments, let me know. Glad you enjoyed my submission! ^_^

i want to make my first suit and i really don't know anything, materials, shapes and proportions and furring...oh my...it will be a hard challenge for me XD especially for what i have in mind to do (i love scribblefox suits),i watched tons of tutorials but i'm still wondering about things,well..i'll see during the making :P i can think and think again about them but until i have concrete things in my paws i can't figure out how exactly i have to do,it's always like this at least for me :3

I understand entirely. Before I made Awtek, I had a first failed attempt with a foam base. Then with Awtek I tried the plastic mesh base. Now with Maus I've tried the balaclava base which is what you see in the pic above. I definitely like the balaclava method the most but I need some practice with it.
Youtube and step-by-step tutorials were a huge help for me. I would also recommend looking up some of beetlecat's tutorials. She has a lot of helpful tips and she makes some of the most amazing fursuits I've ever seen. Good luck with your projects and let me know how it goes!
