I thought I would compile together some fursuits I have made over the years. I'm pleased with the progress I've seen through each one and plan on continuing to better myself. Not all suits I have made are shown here, just a few of them. I will be moving this to scraps later. For now, I'll tell a little about each of these guys.
2006- "Ace" Was the very first fursuit I ever made, before I even knew what fursuits were. Not too terrible for a first try, but still, he was awful! I think there is a lot of foam and chicken wire, along with plastic mesh in this guy. And check those fancy tiny taxidermy eyes on the plastic mesh screen. Aw yeah. No idea where this guy is now. Somehow I ended up selling him on Ebay for $70 (really??? how?)
2007 - "Jacek Version 1" After being introduced to the fandom for about a year, I thought I would try my hand at actually making a fursuit and using some tutorials. I used a lot of things
had on her website tutorials. Not the best of heads, by far, but man did I love her. She got lots of use for about 2 years. Those "fallow me eyes" were such a headache to look through, and had super tunnel vision.
2008 - "Special K" originally was a head done for
but was redone and sold on furbuy to
I really still do like this guy! There were a few things that if I were to make him now, I would change. But overall I liked the look of him. I have no idea where he is now as I know the original owner has sold him, so if you happen to know or have pictures of him being worn I would love to see him! I do know someone else wore him at a convention and called him "Oliver" but I am unsure if they own him now or now.
2009 - "Icazo" A really awesome character that
came up with. I know he has seen a few events and such, and was a fun suit to work on.
2009 - "Jacek 2.0" My current fursuit and my favorite (biased opinion of course) I've changed her and upgraded her so many times over the past 3 years, but she is still going strong and looks as nice as she did the first time I wore her. She is now sporting new eyes and two sets of hand sewn fleece horns. The horns shown on the picture are actually the same ones from my Jacek 1.0 suit! I wanted to keep something with her from the first one, so I snapped them off and glued them on. They did not last, however. The material broke down quite a bit and I replaced them with the fleece horns. Though, the first ones on there were made by
and were the very first furry item I ever received. Woo!
2012 - "Soda" It has been 3 whole years since I have finished a fursuit head completely. Many things have set me back over the years, but thanks to my wonderful friends encouragement, I was able to kick myself in the butt and head into this suit at full force. I am -very- pleased how she turned out! She is nearly completely hand sewn (sans a few minor seams that needed to be glued down) and has a lot of other nice features to her. Her name isn't really Soda, but that is what I will call her for now until she is debuted at MFF 2012 by her owner!
So there you have it, some of my improvement through the years of making fursuits. Granted I took an unfortunate break in between, but now my passion for making them is sparked once again. So do expect to see many more suits from me in the near future!
Tl;dr version : I started making suits in 2006, they were ugly. Wow 2012, look at them now! Huzzah!
