I beat it, but strange occurrences somehow kept me from doing any post-game stuff. (see this journal)
Aww <3 Meow Wow is such a marshmallow, but he gives you Curaga so it's ok
My favorite Spirit so far has been Yoggy Ram, although my Eaglider has been pretty damn epic as well. Can't WAIT to get the materials to make an Aura Lion of decent rank.
Speaking of rank, it takes sooo many high level materials to get a star level Spirit... it's kinda ridiculous, but soo worth it because they actually cast buffs on you in battle <3

Yeah there are! I believe the ranks are F, E, D, C, B, A, then star. Naturally the higher ranked ones cost more materials, but they have higher stats and more spells that they use in battle. So far I've noticed that only the star ranks actually cast buffs on Sora/Riku in battle. I think the Yoggy Ram was 3 grim figments and a couple of dulcets to make a basic rank? The star rank was like 30 of each material (I don't remember the exact number, but it was A LOT).
Later in the game, advanced spirits cost more to get, as you might expect. Like the Aura Lion I want, it's going to cost me a ridiculous amount of materials to make a star level of that one, but, hopefully, it'll be ridiculously strong to match it's cost.
Due to my obsession with high rank spirits, I don't have very many of them because they're so expensive. I try to keep at least one star rank in my party for buffs and let the other one be an A rank, because it's still strong and it costs less materials. I'm on the sixth world and I've only had 3 star ranks so far: Yoggy Ram, Sir Kyroo, and (currently) Fin Fatale. I want that star rank Aura Lion so bad, but I can only get up to B with the materials I have so I haven't made him yet D:

XD It certainly did...especially after I ended up making a major boo boo all over myself...I stupidly had the Blizzard machine turned to "Blizzard" instead of "Clean" when I went to put a cup of hot water under it to clean the spindle. And end up turning it from "Blizzard" to "Clean" and splattering water down the front of my Uniform shirt and Dickies. But this piece was just fluffiness to make my day
