The result of playing WAY too much Borderlands and killing/trying to kill Eridians. You really don't encounter them enough to really be able to complete that challenge in the game. Honestly only place you can begin to do that is the Eridian Prominatory(sp).
Anyhow, since I'm often subject to not being able to kill them until point blank i've spied their gauntlets enough that I figured I'd make my own.
I replicated the ghost-esque blades they used, they're semi-transparent but enough that you can 'sorta' see through them, though from what I can see of the preview image FA gives when posting they have a blurred ghosty look.
Gauntlet has essentially 3 functions, off, short sword, and long sword shown in order ascending from left to right.
In the 2nd image i post you'll notice that the back has vent parts and has lines showing that these parts also open up to allow the gauntlet to cool down should the weapon for whatever reason over heat. If anything think firing the Halo Plasma Rifle or Plasma Repeater until it over heats and it does the animation showing it dispersing the heat.
I'm actually quite proud of these little beauties.

If i limited myself to just elemental guns i'd be doing crap damage, i'm doing 400+ (combat rifles), 1400+ (sniper rifle), 400+x12 (shotguns), and 300+x7 (revolvers) Not counting my 177x4 Double Anarchy, and my Rocket Launcher, who's damage and multiplier currently escape me.
Point is, i go with damage over having an element accompanied by a 200-300 damage output below why my current weapons deal, its like beating someone with a rubber squeaky hammer opposed to a hammer that can actually do some damage. But to each their own, i prefer dealing raw damage opposed to whittling away health in prolonged fire fights.
