My first "successful" attempt at hot process. This uses the same base formula as all our most recent soaps but instead of mixing it in a mold and letting it cure, I sped things along with hot process. Hot process has it's advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is your product is ready to use without curing as soon as it's cooled and cut. The draw back is the time and energy it takes to cook it slowly, and how it's next to impossible to get color blends and swirls like you do in cold process, since the finished soap is like sticky thick mashed potatoes rather than thin pudding when it's done. Successful is in quotes do to an unforeseen pigment malfunction whereby my pigment was apparently not heat proof, and morphed into this alabaster looking color when it was supposed to be vibrant orange. Oh well, still pretty. This is another orange spice essential oil bar. This is to give away to family and friends for the holidays, and not exactly an example of what we offer at
