Now to introduce Saerfox, the merger of Vox and Mistdancer. The method and story behind how and why this happened will be revealed in a short story that 
mistdancer is working on. So I won't be giving it away quite yet...
but I can tell you that by absorbing Vox, Mistdancer not only got hir fur dyed, but also unlocked some latent skunktaur genes, making hir a hym.
((also just as a note, this character design is still in question, so small details may be changed before a final design is chosen.))

not at will most of the time. But when they are in their male phase they look male, and when they are in their female phase they look female. they can 'extend it' a bit if they want.
It's a bit of genetic engineering 'magic' that has become official. Just waiting for it to hit home that it's somehow possible for skunktaurs to do this, yet changing a person's gender via retro virus engineering is not possible and requires cloned organs. ;)

everything everyone said was correct, though Saberfox is still a bit strange because hy's technically not a skunktaur... but the same principle applies :3
also that's a good point! if swapping genders is cannon, it should be able to be applied to any race... not just skunktaurs... *shrugs* well maybe it'll be mentioned at some point...
also just a slight rumor I heard... I believe goldfur is going to changing up skunktaurs... (not definite, just a rumor) so that they don't actually change genders but instead hide one gender at a time... just a rumor though
